Autumn In Chinese Medicine

Fall is the season of harvest, everything in nature contracts and moves its essence inward and downward.  Leaves and fruit fall, seeds dry, sap of trees goes into roots. In Chinese Medicine, five elements prevail. The autumn is considered the metal element and relates to lungs and one of dryness. To stimulate this activity it is suggested to focus mentally, and begin the process of contraction by adding more sour flavored foods. What’s the difference?
